I'm a designer.
I BELIEVE in... keeping it simple, yet elegant; busy, yet easy; colorful, yet focused; fixed, yet elastic; and most of all making it personal and giving a shit.
I consider myself a designer above all else - self taught with around 14 years experience working across many different fields ranging from pure digital, interactive, UI, omni-channel platforms, to traditional graphic design, brand identity, and social media ad creativity.
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
COUNTRIES LIVED IN
Started out with Macromedia Dreamweaver 4 in 2000, and the rest is history.
Fortunate to have nothing but the best demanding clients, allowing me room to grow.
Well traveled; everywhere from Hong Kong and Singapore to Europe and The States.

HTML5 | CSS3
Do you want to look at a boring old resume template from Microsoft Word? No. Do you open them and close them before even reading the person's name ? Yes.
This was my experience, so I decided to create a new experience for my potential employer. Meet, the graphic resume in all its glory!
WHAT I CAN OFFER
A big question you probably have right now is, "What can I offer you?" The answer is, "bang for your buck."
I have a lot of interest in how all the following link together to promote a brand and engage your customers.
HOW IT ALL STARTED
One hat after another
The first hat was building websites from raw HTML/CSS, and it all spiraled from there. I continued pushing the envelope with every project.
Sites led to social media, design, SEO, and before I knew it I was a hat rack.

Everybody Googles. So, having your brand at the top is important; not just for traffic, but awareness.
Creating cutting edge sites from a more design-orientated view. My favorite way to show off.
What better way to engage your customers, have market presence, and show off your assets?
Everybody has one, but yours has to be better; not one notch, but turn it up to 11!
A great and powerful tool in the toolbox, but by no means the only one that I can deliver.
Words have their purpose, but it is how they look that can turn a person on or off your brand.
Aerial Development Group
The Aerial Development group is a modern housing developer in the Nashville, Tennessee, area. They specialize in "tall skinnies" type homes. These are homes that are a single room wide and three or four stories tall.
I decided to utilize the single-page parallax type homepage, in order to reflect the "tall skinny" like structure of Aerial homes. Along with their charity work in Africa, I decided to bring in a bit of the global effect that Aerial is contributing to and the good that they bring people.
This site consists of perhaps 8 pages. This means less load times and page clicking for guests, creating a better UX.
Master Pieces for Autism Speaks
The Nashville chapter of the charity Autism Speaks came to me in need of an auction website for their live event. However, the site would not just be so people could bid early, it was the bidding system even during the event.
The site was made responsive so that event patrons could walk around with their phone or tablet, click an image of the QR code on each auction piece's place card and be immediatley taken to the bid page for that piece.
The issue was that they were losing too much money using eBay and wanted a more intuitive system and UX. I decided to use a combination of HTML5 and Wordpress to deliver. Users could login using the social network of their choice, or use just an email address. Once registered, users could bid on auction pieces.
Walmart MoneyCard iOS App UI
I made the mistake of moving to a city where my nearest Wells Fargo was 35 miles away. I know... way ahead of you. Some people said, "just get a new bank!" However, I like my bank and have been with them since my mum opened a savings account there in 1989, the year we moved to the states (the first time).
Anyway, I started using Walmart's MoneyCard, because they are everywhere. It was easy and simple, but their app consisted of... well they don't have an app and a really bad mobile site. So, I took it upon myself to design one.
The app follows the branding guidelines for Walmart as well as their financial services division. This was important, because it had to remain the instantly recognizable brand that it is.

I love themed parties! They are so fun, so I decided to convince my girlfriend to throw a MadMen themed party for New Year's. However, she is like me and runs away with an idea.
She lives on Madison Avenue in the town where we live, and that is all I neededt to throw a party that would make Don Draper envious.
I created a print flyer and also adapted it for our Facebook event page. We also set up a bar-of-all-bars: framed and wall-mounted some drink recipes for guests to try. And of course, I stylized them the way Peggy would have wanted it.
(If you don't know who Don and Peggy are...
PLEASE WATCH MADMEN!)
SIDELINES is the student-run newspaper at Middle Tennessee State University, and where I really bloomed as a web and graphic designer. This site was made in conjunction with @VirtualBlend's Josh Fields, to create a captivating and engaging UI/UX.
Providing users everything at a glance was important to keep the attention of the young whippersnappers these days. In order to do this, there is a live Twitter feed, featured articles, weather, date, and the latest news from the four corners of campus and then some.
Buy an Aerial Home!
During the development of the Aerial corporate site, I came across an issue that really got in the way of my chi: how to keep everything on one page and still show off all ADG's properties. The fact was, I couldn't, and so I decided to create a subdomain just for their showcase of homes.
The aspect I wanted to get across in the UX was location, location, location, and so I made a Google Map with pinpoints as the central focus of the site. Because if you are on this site this is what you want to see.
I made it filterable for less user hassle, faster searching of properties, and a more pleasurable UX.
Zenagen is a hair care product company based here in Nashville. Jared (owner) was looking for a few short films to be made that he could throw up on big screens at trade shows around the country. Enter, me and @Studio1203.
The first film is a short introduction about the product and what it does and can do for the user. It features a sit down with Jared and Uli, who talk about the creation and use for Zenagen.
The second film is a testimonial featuring Melissa of Parlour 3 Salon in Brentwood, salon to the stars. It features stories and personal experiences with clients like Carrie Underwood.
EVOLve Nashville is a small independent, and indie-pendent, blog on the Nashville lifestyle music scene.
EVOLve utilizes Instagram, Twitter, and good writing to bring the up and coming acts, as well as the established ones of Nashville, to the masses.
Keeping a simple, yet elegant UI helps users focus on the material and images without detracting from the content.
MT Athletics | Coach Stockstill
This was the first project on which I was in charge of a team; loved it!
Football Head Coach Rick Stockstill of Middle Tennessee State University needed a new site, and I was the person for it.
It was based on the Wordpress platform, but had a lot of HTML5 add-on content such as rollovers and a slider.

So, I am guessing this is what you are here to look at to see if what I have been saying is true,
or just a bunch of whooey. Well, please take a look around!

Asher instinctively identifies the unique qualities of new clients and approaches every project with fresh eyes. He also has a sophisticated Cambridge accent that escapes after a couple lagers. This makes him a terrible wingman.
Asher has a great eye for design and coming up with creative ways to get your brand noticed. But I will still throw his cup of tea into a body of water.
